Indian Boxers’ performance at Elorda Cup

Yaiphaba (48kg) fought valiantly but narrowly lost with a score of 3-4 against Kazakhstan’s Zhussupov Askhat. Abhishek faced a tough opponent in Mursal Nurbek from Kazakhstan. Although he fought hard, Abhishek also fell short, losing by a close margin of 3-4.

Vishal’s (86kg) campaign ended with a 0-5 loss against the reigning world champion, Oralbay Nurbek of Kazakhstan. Despite the defeat, Vishal’s performance showcased his potential.

Gaurav Chauhan (92+ kg) faced another Kazakh boxer, Kamshybek Kunkabayev, who is a Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist. Despite giving his best, Gaurav lost with a unanimous decision of 0-5.

Late on Thursday, Shalakha Singh Sansanwal (70kg) and Monika (81+ kg) ended their campaigns with bronze medals after losing in their respective semi-finals.
