Shotgun World Cup: India end 27th in qualifications

The Indian shooters in the Shotgun World Cup held at Lahti, Finland toiled hard but had to settle for a 27th spot in the qualifiers.

In the mixed trap event, the duo of Seema Tomar and Prithviraj Tondaiman notched up a total of 122 out of 150.

Meanwhile, Bulgaria topped the qualification with 138 points while San Marino, who finished second with 134 points qualified for the gold medal match.

Italy and Turkey along with Australia and Spain were tied for the third spot with 133 points. But it was the former two that won the playoff for the bronze medal match.

While Seema Tomar and Tondaiman were placed 27th, the second Indian team which comprised of Shagun Chowdhary and Kynan Chenai ended in the 33rd spot after securing just 117 points.

The Indian skeet shooters will all be geared up and rearing to go as the qualifications for the Olympic berths starts on Tuesday.
