India continued its magnificent form in the ongoing Asian Para Games after sharpshooter Harvinder Singh gave India another gold medal.
Harvinder Singh etched his name into the glory books after overcoming China’s Zhao Lixue 6-0 in the W2/ST category final. In case you don’t know, the W2 category comprises athletes with paraplegia, diplegia or double leg amputation below the knee, requiring a wheelchair. Meanwhile, the ST classification is for archers with restricted impairment and who may take aim without adhering to a wheelchair.
Harvinder has his eyes set on the World Archery Para Championships which will take place from 3rd June to 16th June 2019 in Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.
India is currently sitting eight on the medal table with 7 gold, 12 silver, and 17 bronze medals. China is leading the pack with 95 gold, 40 silver, and 38 bronze medals, and are closely followed by South Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran at the second and third position respectively.
We here at Sportsindiashow wish Harvinder and rest of the athletes participating at the Asian Para Games best of luck for the ongoing games and their future endeavors.
