Shane Watson: Dhoni-Fleming world’s best captain-coach combo


The former Australian All-rounder and Chennai Super Kings player Shane Watson has claimed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Stephen Fleming are the best captain-coach combo. Shane Watson who is currently in India for the on-going Tamil Nadu Premier League. He is pleasantly surprised with the talent the state has and also feels that it is one of the best tournaments to nurture the young cricketers on a grass-root level.

Shane Watson who has been associated with the Chennai Super Kings from 2018 has been a key player for them in the tournament and has scored two centuries for the Super Kings out of which one came against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the finals of IPL 2018 at the Wankhede Stadium.

The Australian All-rounder was in praise for the owner of India Cements and Chennai Super Kings N.Srinivasan and credits the owner , captain and coach for the smooth run of operations in the team.

“My experience with Chennai Super Kings has been very special and welcoming. I’ve played a lot of leagues for franchises around the world, whether that’s here in India or other parts of the world. There’s no doubt that CSK is a very slick operation with how it is run, on and off the field. And everything comes down to the leaders, with how Mr. N Srinivasan, how he allows the team to be run by the franchise; with MS Dhoni and Stephen Fleming, who I believe are the best captain-coach combination in the world. ” said the former Australian Opener and Chennai Super Kings Player.

Watson also hopes that the Australians make it 2-0 in the Ashes by defeating England in the second test at Lords.
