Virender Sehwag drops his verdict by claiming that Rohit Sharma’s ability to score at a rapid rate is unmatched with even Indian skipper Virat Kohli falling short.
The former Indian opener, who was famous for his explosive batting style showered praised on The Hitman and asserted on Sharma’s ability to accelerate the innings once he gets set. He said to Cricbuzz:
“Hitting 3-4 sixes in an over or scoring 80-90 runs off 45 balls is an art I haven’t seen even Virat Kohli pull off as regularly as Rohit Sharma,”
Sharma, who is having a great year, added an astounding knock of 85 runs in a run chase of 154 to his collection. The skipper missed his 5th T20 International century. Apart from this knock, Sharma staked his claim in the red-ball department with a memorable debut series against the visiting Proteas.
Talking to Yuzvendra Chahal on Chahal TV after the comfortable chase in Rajkot, the man of the match stated that muscle and power is not required to clear the boundary while cheekily adding that Chahar can hit them effortlessly as well. He also added that middling the ball and keeping your head still are also necessary attributes required to hit sixes.
