It is often said that if you truly have a passion for something in life, even God himself will help you fulfill your goals for that passion. We now even have living proof of this, as Maddaram Kawasi, a differently-abled child with a strong passion and love for the game of Cricket was helped by the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar himself. Kawasi received a special gift from Sachin, i.e. a complete set of a cricket kit.

Previously a video had gone viral on social media after Tendulkar had tweeted it. In that video, Kawasi was seen playing the game and crawling on the pitch with one hand while holding the bat with his other hand to score a run. This inspirational video had touched Tendulkar’s heart and he had shared it with his followers at the beginning of 2020.

Kawasi, got the gift from the legendary batsman’s manager when the 12-year-old was in Raipur to play in the final of wheelchair tournament. When asked by journalists on how he felt on receiving Tendulkar’s gift, here is what he had to say:

This is the best day of my life to receive a gift from the legend of Cricket – the game so close to my heart. Holding the bat I feel a gush of blood in my body that gives me the power to manifest what I want to become. My disability does not stop me dreaming and I have been playing Cricket for the last one year and enjoy the game to the core.

Cricket’s greatest ever player also sent a note for the little boy. Tendulkar urged him to continue to enjoy the game and to continue playing it as well. Here’s what his note said:

“I feel very happy to see the way you are enjoying this game. This gift is a token of love for you and your friends.”
