Hitman Rohit Sharma was at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday for this year’s first El Clasico and the opener was undoubtedly thrilled to experience the biggest football match of the planet. Sharma, the La Liga brand ambassador in India, was invited by the league authorities to watch the 277th Clasico, as he expressed his gratitude to both La Liga and his ‘favourite team’ Real Madrid CF for providing a “surreal experience” during their recent tour of Madrid.

The Mumbai Indians skipper took to Instagram to share a glimpse of his Estadio Santiago Bernabeu tour, something which was in his “bucket list” for a long time.

“Thanks @laliga and @realmadrid for helping me tick this off my bucket list, what a surreal experience. My family and I had a blast. So memorable,” he wrote along with a picture of him with his wife Ritika Sajdeh.

India’s ODI vice-captain was fanboying hard as he shared a few more photos and videos of the Real Madrid stadium tour in his Instagram stories.

In one video he wrote “First few Real Madrid jerseys”, while the other consisted of him coming out of the “The historic Real Madrid tunnel” into the pitch.

Ritika, Rohit’s better-half, also posted the same picture as her husband and was visibly delighted to see his dream come true. “His dream” she wrote followed by a red heart sticker in her Instagram story.

The right-hander picked up a calf injury just before the ODI series against New Zealand last month and is currently undergoing recovery; but couldn’t resist flying out to Madrid with his wife and daughter to watch Real Madrid host Barcelona on Sunday.

Prior to the game, the 32-year-old expressed his excitement about the Clasico as he tweeted,

“So good to be in beautiful Madrid for #ElClasico can’t wait for the game tomorrow @LaLigaEN,”

To which La Liga replied, “Enjoy hitman”

The Los Blancos on the other hand secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over their eternal rivals through goals from young Vinicius Jr. and Mariano Diaz, as this victory puts Zinedine Zidane’s side on top of the league table leading Barcelona by a single point.
