Saurabh Netravalkar, the USA pacer and software engineer at Oracle, is eagerly looking forward to the challenge of bowling at the inspirational pair of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli during the match against India. This anticipation stems from his respect for the duo and his journey in cricket, which has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Saurabh Netravalkar’s Journey

Born in Mumbai, Netravalkar started his cricketing career in India, where he played for the Mumbai Ranji team. He later moved to the United States in 2015 to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering at Cornell University. Balancing his passion for cricket with his academic pursuits, he created a cricket player analysis app called CricDecode.

Netravalkar’s cricketing journey in the USA began when he started commuting to Los Angeles to play for Vijayta CC in the Southern California Cricket Association. He was selected by the United States national team ahead of the 2017-18 Regional Super50. His performances led to him being named the captain of the team.

Netravalkar recently made headlines for his match-winning performance against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024. Tasked to bowl the Super Over, he defended 18 runs, leading USA to a famous win. This victory has given the USA a great chance of securing an entry into the Super Eights.

Netravalkar’s anticipation to bowl at the Kohli-Rohit pair is not just about the challenge; it’s also about the inspiration. He has bowled at Rohit in the nets during his time with Mumbai and hails India’s opening pair as an inspirational figure. The upcoming match against India is a significant moment for him, as it brings him face-to-face with two of the world’s best batsmen.
