The doubles star, who represented the Ahmedabad Smash Masters in the previous edition of the tournament is having a prolific year along with his doubles partner Chirag Shetty. The pair created history by becoming the first Indian pair to win a Super 500 by clinching the Thailand open.

The 19-year-old revealed an interesting conversation with his mother after bagging the deal with the Superstarz. As per Satwiksairaj, instead of congratulating him for securing the feat, his mother proceeded to question as to why the franchise is paying him a huge sum of money. He said:

“‘Why are they paying you so much? You’re so young, you don’t need that kind of money’. That’s exactly what she said,”

The young shuttler also proceeded to claim that he has pushed his desire to own a superbike with the money by instead opting to spend it on other purposes. He added:

“I don’t keep a single rupee with me. I will transfer all the money to my father’s account and he will take care of it. We got our house renovated and also cleared my brother’s education loan. With the money I’ve got now, we are planning to buy a house in Hyderabad. As far as the bike is concerned, I think I will have to wait for another three to four years,”
