The team, based in the Malappuram district, plays its home games at the Payyanad Stadium, also known as the Malappuram District Sports Complex Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators.

Malappuram FC is one of the six teams participating in the inaugural season of the Kerala Super League, which kicked off on September 7, 2024. The league, organized by the Kerala Football Association, aims to promote football in the state and provide a competitive platform for local players. Malappuram FC made a strong start to the season with a historic 2-1 victory over Forca Kochi in an away match at Kochi’s Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium.
