Back in 2010, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza tied the knots with Pakistani international cricketer Shoaib Malik, which, at that moment spewed a lot of controversies. However, a decade has passed, and on 12th April, Mirza decided to commemorate their anniversary with a post on Instagram along with her better half. However, there was a witty twist in the post, as Mirza posted what was the ‘expectation’ staying together for a decade would have looked like, versus what the ‘reality’ is, and the hilarious touch in the post cracked her fans up.

On Sunday, Mirza’s Instagram post saw a photo where the couple, dressed in beautiful attire posing for the camera. However, the twist was in the second picture, where the couple are seen making funny faces, implying what their 10 years of marriage has actually become.
“Happy Anniversary @realshoaibmalik😌🤗A decade of being married looks like this!! Expectation vs reality 😅😂 Swipe right for reality ➡️” Mirza captioned the post.
Along with having a giggle at the post, netizens stormed the comment section with wishes towards the couple, which even included former American tennis ace Bethanie Mattek-Sands, who couldn’t believe that a decade has passed already, as she wrote: “It’s been 10years!?!? 😱❤️🙌🏼“
The six times Grand Slam winner’s marriage ceremony with Malik took place in both countries, in Hyderabad, India and then in Sialkot, Pakistan. In 2018, they had a baby boy who was named Izhaan Mirza Malik.
Mirza has won three Women’s doubles titles with former Swiss tennis legend Martina Hingis. The former doubles no 1 has also won three mixed doubles titles, two with her compatriot and retired tennis icon Mahesh Bhupathi, and another with the Brazilian Bruno Soares.
Mirza came out of her retirement this year, and in January she won the women’s doubles titles at the Hobart International tournament in January, partnered with Ukrainian tennis star Nadiia Kichenok.
Last month, Mirza joined the battle against the novel Coronavirus pandemic, teaming up with Youth Feed India and SAFA, raised money and distributed food for the needy.
“The last week we have tried as a team to provide some help to the people in need..we provided food to thousands of families and raised 1.25 Crore in one week which will help close to 1 Lakh people.its an ongoing effort and we are in this together 🙏🏽@youthfeedindia@safaindia” the 33 year old tweeted in February.
