First, it was Team India skipper Virat Kohli, who revealed to us about his favourite cheat meal- the chole bhature, so important that he compared it to his focus on the bowler on the pitch. Now comes Ajinkya Rahane. The current vice captain of the test format is on a break from the red ball game, now well over a month, means he’s cherishing an escape out of his strict sports diet. On his tweet regarding vada pav, another cricketing icon arrived and revealed his foodie nature- the one and only Sachin Tendulkar!

On his official Twitter handle, Rahane posted a picture of himself in a hoodie, holding a vada pav on the street. He captioned the picture with a poll for his social media audience, on their best way to enjoy the famous dish from Maharashtra.

The 31 year old asked his followers if the best way to enjoy the vada pav is to have it with a side item like chutney or chai, or without.

Sachin himself joined in, saying that chutney is his favourite go to method, and he even has them with three different kinds of chutnies. Sounds yummy!

Rahane himself followed up with a reply, acknowledging the ‘Little Master’s foodie nature.

Sachin is well known for his love for pav, and even said in an interview back in his cricketing days that he enjoys them with his son Arjun Tendulkar.

“I and my son love to eat vada pav at Shivaji Park Gymkhana and there is nothing that can beat this snack, laced with ‘chutney’,” the 46 year old said in an interview back in 2011.

Rahane, who usually opens Men in Blues’s innings in limited overs cricket, is a brilliant middle order batsman in the Test format. He scored his 10th test century in the 2nd innings of the first test against West Indies back in August. With a combined score of 183, Rahane was named player of the match.

The former Rajasthan Royals star was picked up by Delhi Capitals in this year’s IPL auction. Since his last match against Bangladesh back in November, Rahane is enjoying his liberty from his nutrition plan.

However, the 63 times test capped heavy hitter will return to international duty later in January, as India will travel to New Zealand for T20, ODI and Test series that will continue till march.
