Former Indian Cricketer and legend of the game commonly referred to as the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar, has made a bold comment on the national selection of T20 Internationals. According to the former Mumbai Indians captain , a player who has performed well in the Indian Premier League, could be selected for the smallest format team , but emphasized that the IPL Performances should not have any affect on the team selection of one-day cricket and test matches as a players caliber of performing in crunch situations cannot reveal the character of a player to play in the longer formats of the game.

Talking to the press the legendary batsman who retired from the sport in 2013 was asked about his favourite test knock, which he gave it to his century in Perth in 1991. Talking bout the rivalries in the sport, Tendulkar said it is always good to have rivalries in cricket and quoted the example of legendary rivalries such as Sunil Gavaskar vs Andy Roberts or a Dennis Lillee vs Imran Khan or Tendulkar himself facing Wasim and Ambrose.

He was also concerned about the level and quality of cricket which has fallen down during the years and told that Day/Night test will be a great step for the future of the sport and will help the sport revive its popularity.
