Tendulkar feels that India has a very good chance in the upcoming World Cup.

The World Cup is less than 20 days away, and all of the 10 teams are pumped up for the mega-event. As of now, the hosts England and defending champions Australia, are favourites to win the World Cup. However, that’s not what the master blaster thinks. While addressing the media, Tendulkar said that the cup will come back to the 2011 champions, India.

The tournament begins on the 30th of May. Tendulkar has predicted the wickets on offer in England to be absolutely batsmen friendly wickets. “I am told, it’s going to be a hot summer. If you see the last time when we played the Champions Trophy, the wickets were superb. When the sun is out and it is hot, the wicket gets really flat. I’ m sure they are going to give beautiful tracks to bat on,” Tendulkar said.

The last couple of summers have been really hot in England, and hence the usually seamer-friendly wickets might turn-out to be in favour of the batsmen.

“I personally don’t think there will be much difference in the conditions unless there is a heavy cloud cover. When there is a heavy cloud cover, the ball might move around a bit but that happens in any part of the world for some time. I don’t see it happening for a longer duration. Just for a few overs if at all. But if the sun is out, I don’t see too much lateral movement,” the legend added.

Players like captain Virat Kohli, openers KL Rahul, and Shikhar Dhawan,  and all-rounder Hardik Pandya have found the right touch in the IPL, just before the tournament begins. This is surely going to benefit the Indian cricket team at the World Cup. The master feels that though the format is different, the players will do well to adjust.
