Rubina Francis’s Journey to Bronze
Rubina Francis, a 25-year-old shooter from Madhya Pradesh, showcased her exceptional talent and resilience in the highly competitive event. She scored a total of 211.1 in the final, securing the third position.
Her journey to the podium was not without challenges. Rubina had a slow start in the qualification round, initially placing 14th after the first series of 10 shots. However, she gradually improved her performance, finishing seventh in the qualification with a score of 556/600.
In the final, Rubina began with a superb 10.7 but faced fluctuating scores as the series progressed. Despite the ups and downs, she maintained her composure and secured her spot in the top three. Her consistent performance in the final series, including scores of 9.5 and 9.8, ensured her a place on the podium.
Rubina’s bronze medal adds to India’s impressive tally in shooting at the Paris Paralympics. The country’s shooters have delivered outstanding performances, with Avani Lekhara, Mona Agarwal, and Manish Narwal also contributing to the medal count.
Avani Lekhara made history by successfully defending her women’s 10m air rifle gold medal, while Mona Agarwal clinched bronze in the same event. Manish Narwal added a silver medal in the men’s 10m air pistol SH1 event.

Rubina’s Background and Achievements
Rubina Francis has been a prominent figure in Indian para-shooting. She previously competed in the Tokyo Paralympics, where she finished seventh in the same event. Her journey to the Paris Paralympics was marked by rigorous training and a strong determination to improve her performance.
