How the Rs 125 Crore T20 World Cup Prize Money Will Be Shared Among Players and Support Staff

The BCCI had announced a whopping prize money amount of Rs 125 crore for team India after their T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. The entire team was handed a cheque for the prize money during the felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on July 6th, Thursday.

BCCI’s T20 World Cup Prize Money Breakdown

The 15-member squad that secured victory will each receive Rs 5 crore from the prize money. Notably, this includes players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Sanju Samson, who didn’t feature in any games during India’s T20 World Cup campaign.

Rahul Dravid, who had his last assignment as team India’s head coach, along with the core coaching group, will receive Rs 2.5 crore each. The core coaching group comprises batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey.

The five members of the senior selection committee, including chairman Ajit Agarkar, will be credited with Rs 1 crore each. The four reserve players will also receive Rs 1 crore in their bank accounts.

The other members of the backroom staff will be rewarded with Rs 2 crore each. This includes three physiotherapists, three throwdown specialists, two masseurs, and the strength and conditioning coach.

The total contingent consisted of 42 people, including the Indian team, support staff, and BCCI staff members. The video analyst, media officers, and the team’s logistics manager will also receive their share of the prize money.

Players and support staff have been informed about the prize money they’ll receive. The BCCI has requested everyone to submit invoices for the disbursement process.
