Hyderabad Ranji Team had an excellent 2024 campaign as they won all seven matches they played in the competition. They had to bat twice only in six out of the seven games. After this historic win, HCA Chief Jagan Mohan Rao Arsihnapally also promised a BMW car to every player and a cash reward of INR 1 crore to the team if they win the prestigious Ranji Trophy title within the upcoming three seasons.

Hyderabad, the title winners in the 1937-38 and 1986-87 editions of the elite domestic tournament, suffered the hardest fate in the last edition. They were demoted to the plate division after finishing at the bottom of the Elite Group B points table with a solitary win in seven league-stage games.
The demotion was indeed a shock to the stature of Hyderabad cricket but their return was also on the expected lines as they outclassed teams like Nagaland, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Mizoram to swiftly return to the Elite Group.
