Ronaldinho, the Barcelona and AC Milan legend once revealed in an interview that how the 2005 Ballon d’Or winner almost made his way into Sir Alex Ferguson’s United squad, back in the summer of 2003.

A couple of years ago in an interview, the former Brazillian forward unveiled how me almost made his way to Old Trafford, while he was 23 and with the Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain.
“I almost went to United. It was a matter of 48 hours, but Sandro Rosell (candidate for president of Barcelona at the time) told me before I received the proposal: ‘If I become president of Barça, will you come?’ I said yes. It was just a matter of detail with United when Rosell called me to say that I would win the election.” he told English magazine FourFourTwo.
I promised I would play at Barça, and it was a quick negotiation. I told the English that I chose Barça. It was the right choice, Brazilians have always loved Barcelona. We have a story there,” the 2002 World Cup winner added.
Red Devils legend Paul Scholes also said that they were very close to land the attacking midfielder, followed by Fergie’s comment on the matter.
“There was a problem with his brother, who was his agent, but Peter Kenyon, who was chief executive then, didn’t get the job done,” the 77 year old Scotsman said.
Ronaldinho’s destination was Camp Nou, where he won two La Liga and a UEFA Champions League in 2006, and later went to AC Milan, winning the Serie A title in 2011.
