Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden have secured a spot in the prestigious season-ending ATP Finals 2024, set to take place from November 10 to 17 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. This marks Bopanna’s fourth appearance in the tournament and Ebden’s second.

Season Highlights

The Indo-Aussie duo had a remarkable season, starting with a bang by winning the Australian Open in 2024. Bopanna became the oldest man at 43 years and 331 days to achieve the world No. 1 ranking. They also added the Miami Open title to their resume and reached the finals in Adelaide and the semi-finals at Roland Garros.

Path to the Finals

Bopanna and Ebden secured their place in the ATP Finals after Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow were eliminated at the Rolex Paris Masters, finalizing the 2024 field. The top eight doubles teams globally will compete in the tournament, and the Indo-Aussie pair is set to face tough competition from teams like Wesley Koolhof/Nikola Mektic, Kevin Krawietz/Tim Puetz, Harri Heliovaara/Henry Patten, Marcelo Arevalo/Mate Pavic, Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos, Simone Bolelli/Andrea Vavassori, and Max Purcell/Jordan Thompson.

Rohan Bopanna’s Journey

For Bopanna, this event holds special significance as he eyes his maiden ATP Finals title. He previously finished as a finalist in 2012 with Mahesh Bhupathi and again in 2015 alongside Florin Mergea. Bopanna’s ATP Finals journey began in 2011 with Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi.
