Yuzvendra Chahal became the most expensive spin bowler in the T20 franchise league after being selected by Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Currently training for the 2025 Indian Premier League with his new side, the Punjab Kings, Yuzvendra Chahal is known for entertaining his teammates. His videos with his former IPL team, the Rajasthan Royals, went viral, and it appears that his new team, the Punjab Kings, is following suit. Chahal was seen in a recent video making amusing remarks during a batting session. He said, among other things, “Yes, it’s a two.” The comment made social media react as it is a line which was used by Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan during practice.
At the IPL 2025 super auction, Yuzvendra Chahal was picked by Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore, making him the costliest spin bowler in the T20 franchise league. The previous highest price for a spinner at the auctions was INR 10.75 crore for Wanindu Hasaranga (albeit he was registered as an all-rounder) by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2022.
