The reason why Adrien Rabiot hasn’t yet signed for Barcelona

The arrival of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot at Camp Nou this month seems to be one of the hottest things in Catalonia, however, the Frenchman has not yet been able to reach terms suitable enough to agree to a deal with the La Liga side and the reason behind that appears to be quite peculiar in nature!

While Barcelona remain optimistic to sign Rabiot this month, the days of the transfer window slip by with each passing one and as the PSG midfielder hasn’t yet agreed a deal with the Catalans, pressure mounts on both the parties to proceed with the deal before the window runs out. As conversations still continue for the proceedings of the deal, it looks like it won’t be easy to take a decision.

As per reports, a strange clause stipulated by the Spanish giants prevents Rabiot from completing the deal. This peculiarly natured clause states that the 24-year old Frenchman will not be allowed to play as a no. 6 in the team, should he move from Paris to Catalonia this month. In addition to this odd reason, despite Barca’s clear interest to sign Rabiot, who have offered him €10m deal for 5-years, the player’s representatives are considering the possibility of a move somewhere other the Camp Nou.

Even though Rabiot remains adamant to leave the French capital, time runs out. And while Barca remains as a huge possibility, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race as well.
