Real Madrid are planning a double Premier League raid with Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford and Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen in their sights. According to reports Rashford, is the latest forward to emerge as a candidate to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu. The Champions League holders also want Spurs’ Danish midfield playmaker Eriksen as the long-term successor to Luka Modric.
New Real boss Santiago Solari is a huge Rashford fan and is weighing up a £50m offer. United manager Jose Mourinho has often been critical of Rashford, 21, and the player has made only five Premier League starts this season. Madrid scouts have been at recent United matches but were thought to be eyeing Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku. However, Madrid may also face competition for Rashford from Juventus.
Madrid are also plotting a £40m bid for Eriksen. He has been playing for the North London club since he completed an £11.5m switch from Ajax in 2013. Eriksen, who played 45 minutes of Denmark’s goalless draw with Ireland on Monday night, has 18 months left on his deal at Tottenham but talks over an extension have stalled. Eriksen has been one of the best playmakers in the Premier League for some time now scoring 57 and assisting 73 in 239 games for Spurs.
The Spanish heavyweights are thus, lining up a double raid worth a combined £90 million. Of the aforementioned figure, £50 million has been allocated for Rashford, with £40 million being reserved for Eriksen.
