Under the turbulence of the Covid-19 pandemic, many celebrities have donated to the cause of helping the poor and fighting the virus. Along stars of the film world, including Shah Rukh Khan, the sporting community have been very forward to help for the cause. The cricketers earn the bulk of the net income among sportsmen in India but they haven’t been the only people to donate, as sporting talents and legends from a wide range of sports have tried to help the nation in a time of need. Indian golfer Arjun Bhati is one of them, and his case is most interesting and heartwarmingly precious.

Bhati has donated Rs 4.30 Lakhs towards the cause. While it may pale in front of the Crores paid by some more-known sportspersons, his sacrifice makes it worth a salute. The Young Indian has made the greatest sacrifice a sportsperson can think of. Bhati, who hails from Greater Noida, has sold all the trophies he earned in his career, which includes 3 world golf championship titles and national championship, to raise money for the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund. The Indian golfer’s sacrifice will surely be remembered.

“As you all know, our country is going through a tough time, a difficult situation has arisen. I would like you all to come forward in helping the country. Do contribute in whatever capacity you can.In the last 8 years, I had won 102 trophies, I gave them to get some money and now I have contributed Rs 4 lakh and 30 thousand to the PM-CARES Fund. I would like everyone to utilise this time and follow self-isolation,” Bhati said.

“I wanted to do my bit in India’s fight against Covid-19. Since I have no earning of my own, I decided to sell my trophies. Trophies can be won later, but I can’t sit idle when my nation is in need of funds to fight the deadly disease. My relatives and friends of my parents have bought them. Though the trophies are still at my home. I will send them across once the lockdown is lifted,” the young Indian Golfer added.
