IPL 2021: RCB vs RR Odds, Predictions and Analysis

76

The Royal derby will unfurl this evening, but with one team enjoying their newfound success while the other struggling to keep up. Virat Kohli will look to extend their winning streak to four games as they shift to the Wankhede upon completion of their Chennai leg.

IPL 2021: RCB vs RR Odds, Predictions and Analysis

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

The three-time finalists have made a perfect start to the campaign with three wins on the trot. Virat Kohli has marshalled his troops to perfection on the slow Chepauk surface.

RCB have tactfully resolved their middle-order crisis with Glenn Maxwell stepping up to the task as well. While their lower middle order lacks a punch, the supreme form of Maxwell and Ab de Villiers has overshadowed that.

Another area that needed sorting was the death over crisis. Harshal Patel, the leading wicket-taker has been influential in the final overs and not to mention the invaluable contribution of Mohammad Siraj, bowling the crucial and tough overs of the innings.

While the Wankhede has not aided spin much, Virat Kohli might be hesitant to alter the winning combination. A potential change might see a pacer all-rounder in the form of Daniel Christian or Daniel Sams replace Shahbaz Ahmed.

Full Squad: Virat Kohli (c), AB de Villiers, Devdutt Padikkal, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj, Kane Richardson, Washington Sundar, Pavan Deshpande, Finn Allen, Shahbaz Ahamad, Navdeep Saini, Adam Zampa, Kyle Jamieson, Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, Sachin Baby, Mohammed Azharuddin, Daniel Christian, KS Bharat, Suyash Prabhudessai, Daniel Sams, Harshal Patel.

Rajasthan Royals (RR)

The current wooden spoon holders have a lot to ponder upon right from the number 4 conundrum, the form of their skipper and combating the injury crisis to overseas players.

RR are currently without the Englishmen trio of Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes and Liam Livingstone. The latter was the final one to depart following bio-bubble fatigue.

The Indian batch of players in the batting unit have been far from their best. Manan Vohra, Shivam Dube and Sanju Samson will have to step up and show more consistency and value to their wicket.

While Yahsasvi Jaiswal waits on the bench, the RR management will likely back Manan Vohra for a couple more games.

Full Squad: Sanju Samson (c), Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler, Riyan Parag, Shreyas Gopal, Rahul Tewatia, Mahipal Lomror, Kartik Tyagi, Andrew Tye, Jaydev Unadkat, Mayank Markande, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Anuj Rawat, David Miller, Manan Vohra, Christopher Morris, Shivam Dube, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman, Liam Livingstone, K.C. Cariappa, Akash Singh, Kuldip Yadav.

Waging Odds: Royal Challengers Bangalore (1.67) vs Rajasthan Royals (2.20)

Royal Challengers Bangalore are priced at 1.67 and are the favourites. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹167 if they come out as winners.

Rajasthan Royals are the underdogs and are priced at 2.20, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹220.

Our prediction

The only slight advantage that RR have in their hand is that they have been acclimatized with the Wankhede surface after already playing three matches. But with that being said, RCB won’t be having much trouble adapting to the wicket given that their batting unit is in good touch.

While the venue is the same, Wankhede has dished out two types of surfaces with one being flat and the other one being slow with the ball holding and gripping.

RCB have a squad well-equipped to deal with both situations and should come out as winners today and extend their run to four matches.
