RCB vs CSK: The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) put up a decent total of 218/5 on the board with all their batters contributing in the knockout game against the Chennai Super Kings. The onslaught was laid by the dashing opener Virat Kohli in the third over of the innings, which included a 98m six that hit the roof of the Chinnaswamy.
RCB vs CSK: The batters lead the charge
RCB were 31/0 when rain interrupted the game. After the break, the CSK spinners got great assistance from the pitch, especially Santner and Theekshana bowling a few rippers which left Virat Kohli spellbound. Despite this, Kohli and Du Plessis kept the scoreboard running. Trying to be aggressive Virat got dismissed against Santner for a crafty innings of 47 off 29 balls.
After his partner’s dismissal, skipper Faf took the onus to speed up the scoreboard. In the process, Faf brought up his fifty but was soon dismissed in a rather controversial dismissal. Cameron Green joined Rajat Patidar and stitched a beautiful partnership of 71 in just 28 balls that shifted the momentum entirely in the home team’s favour.

Shardul Thakur got the better of Patidar (41 off 23) in the 18th over. Dinesh Karthik (14 off 6) and Glenn Maxwell (16 off 5) on his return played quick cameos to take the side a challenging total of 218.
Though the target is 219 for the CSK, they need to get 201 or more to qualify ahead of the home team for the playoffs. RCB would be backing their spinners to bowl similarly to CSK upfront to clinch this game and put themselves in the playoffs of IPL 2024.
