Team India to face England excluding Ravindra Jadeja in the Test series

Team India are freshly off the emphatic 2-1 victory against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, despite the depleted squad due to the injuries.

They are set to host England at home and will compete in all three formats of cricket.

But, the injury concerns remain in the team as several players have been ruled out the first two test matches. Now, reports say that all-rounder Jadeja has been ruled of the whole test series.

Jadeja had previously dislocated his left thumb during the third Test in Sydney. He also underwent surgery in Australia but requires a long six weeks to recover.

The Men in Blue are set to play the Three Lions in the four-match Test series, five T20 Internationals, and three ODIs. The first two Tests are scheduled to take place in Chennai while the next two will be in Ahmedabad.

The Indian Express reported that a BCCI official told “He(Jadeja) is out of Test series and he will take more than six weeks to recover completely. The selectors will take a call later, whether to include him in the team for the shorter formats.”

Jadeja is set to travel to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for undergoing the rehabilitation process.

It was reported that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has requested the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) to have a word with the authorities.

It is to be decided whether 50 percent of the capacity of the crowd at the Chepauk Stadium could be allowed for the Test matches against England. The Tamil Nadu government has allowed theatres to run at 50 percent capacity.

The Indian players will have to undergo mandatory three days of quarantine after they arrive in Chennai. After the hard quarantine, players will be allowed to train and use the gym.

Players have also been asked to reach the venue on January 27 as the series will commence from February 5 onwards.
