India’s veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has recently revealed that India decided to take the Border-Gavaskar series as a three-match series after they faced a humiliating defeat in the first Test in Adelaide and he also gave the credit to the dressing room morale for their ability to bounce back from a crunch situation during the four-match Test series against Australia.

However, Team India managed to retain the Border Gavaskar series despite having played without their key players who were injured. Even they didn’t get the service of their regular captain Virat Kohli who returned to India to be with his wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of their first child. But the visitors fought all odds and defeat Australia in the four-match series by 2-1 as well.

“I think after Adelaide’s loss, it was a bit tough. You know bounce back from there. Especially in Australia, playing against Australia. It was tough as Australia’s bowling attack was very strong. That was the discussion we had in the team meeting,” Ravindra Jadeja said to Boria Majumdar in an exclusive chat with Sports Today.

Ravindra Jadeja scored a valiant 57 with the bat and managed to steady the ship with a partnership alongside the captain Ajinkya Rahane to help India win in Melbourne. Even, in the third Test in Sydney, he claimed four wickets in the first innings and also scored 28 before being hit on the thumb which eventually ruled him out of the final Test as well.

“We decided to look at it as a 3-match series from thereon. Let’s forget about the first Test, it’s a three-game series for us’. We decided that we will create positive energy in the ground and boost each other’s confidence by talking, not think or talk about Adelaide Test,” Ravindra Jadeja further added. “I personally decided that I will practice batting in Australia. I had a positive mindset that whenever I will get the chance I will contribute to the team’s cause.”

However, he has returned home along with others on Thursday morning and he will now go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for the rehabilitation as well.
