In a tweet, Ashwin said that the youngster’s death has come as a reality check, and it is important for the budding cricketers to be taught to “accept rejection as a part of the journey called life.”

Ravichandran Ashwin again said that youngsters who are working towards a particular goal should be exposed to multiple career options as well in both school and college life.

Karan Tiwari (25), the Mumbai-based local-level cricketer, allegedly committed suicide at his house in Mumbai on Monday night and the death report has been registered at Kurar Police Station and a probe was initiated too.

He used to bowl in the nets for Mumbai during Ranji Trophy, his alleged suicide news was confirmed by an official of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) said on Tuesday. He allegedly hanged himself at his house in Gokulnagar at Goregaon East on Monday.

On the other hand, the BCCI has received the formal approval from the central government to host the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE, IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel has revealed the news on Monday.

The league is all set to begin from September 19 and the final will take place on November 10 as well. Fans are eagerly waiting for the 53-day tournament.

“Yes, we have received all the written approvals,” Patel told PTI when he was asked whether the permission has come in writing from both the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Notably, if an Indian sports body shifts a domestic tournament outside India, they require the clearance from Home, External and sports ministries respectively to host the tournament there.

“Once we had the verbal okay from the government, we had intimated the Emirates Cricket Board. Now we have the papers also, so franchises can be intimated that everything is in order,” a veteran BCCI official said to PTI on conditions of anonymity.
