Indian men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty after their Thailand Open triumph stormed into the top 10 in the rankings on Tuesday.
Rankireddy and Shetty became the first Indian pairing to win a BWF Super 500 tournament. Those efforts saw them climb seven places to move to ninth in the men’s doubles rankings.
There was however no changes in the ranking positions for Indian singles shuttlers as Kidambi Srikanth (10th), Sameer Verma (13), B. Sai Praneeth (19), H.S. Prannoy (31) and Sourabh Verma (44) all retained their previous ratings.
In the men’s rankings only Parupalli Kashyap and Subhankar Dey saw upward movement. Kashyap moved up three places to 32nd while Subhankar climbed two places to 39th.
While the women’s doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy moved up a place to 23rd, both P.V. Sindhu and Saina Nehwal held on to their previous rankings.
The only blip came in the mixed doubles department as it saw Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Sikki Reddy drop a place to 23rd and Ponnappa and Rankireddy drop four spots to move to 27th.
