Punjab FC, gearing up for the upcoming 2024-25 season, has made a significant move by signing Croatian midfielder Filip Mrzlijak. This marks their first foreign signing and promises to bolster their midfield.

Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Mrzlijak graduated from the renowned Dinamo Zagreb Academy, which has produced football luminaries like Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic, and Vedran Corluka. He played for various clubs across Europe, including Lokomotiva (Croatia), Pandurii Targu Jiu (Romania), Astra Giurgiu (Romania), and FC Ufa (Russia) before joining HNK Gorcia.
Mrzlijak represented Croatia in various youth age groups, participating in the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup and the 2012 UEFA U19 Championships.
Speaking about the signing, Technical Director of Punjab FC, Nikolaos Topoliatis said, “We are excited to have Filip in our ranks for the upcoming season. He is an experienced campaigner who has played in Europe at the highest level of youth football. He will add steel to the midfield and be a leader in and out of the field.”
With Mrzlijak’s arrival, Punjab FC aims to strengthen their squad and make a mark in the upcoming season. Football enthusiasts eagerly await his impact on the Indian football scene.
