The shuttler earned the World Championship title back in August but has been putting on a disappointing performance ever since. Sindhu has only been able to put up a fight in the French Open tournament, but Badminton coach Pullela Gopichand believes it is due to her tight schedule.
The badminton player has not been able to hold up against her opponents after the World Championship tournament. Her early exits from the championships have raised questions, to which coach Gopichand has responded. He gave a brief about her schedule ever since the World Championship ended. Sindhu has been flying to Denmark, France, Korea and China to participate in tournaments, while at the same time preparing for the upcoming Tokyo 2020. The hectic schedule has taken a toll on her, but Gopichand is sure that the country will witness World No 1 Sindhu in her zone again at the Tokyo 2020.
Other players, apart from Sindhu, are also preparing for the Olympics. He has reason to believe that every sports person representing India can bring back a medal to the country. Having been a fan of cricket ever since he was a child, he is extremely excited for the D/N Test match, that is to Kickstart at the Eden Gardens on Friday. He and Sindhu will be among the many players who will be felicitated at the event.
