Pro Panja League 2020: 5 arm wrestlers to watch in the inaugural tournament

Arm Wrestling’s prevalence is about to hit a surge in the swooning market that is India. Pro Panja League 2020 aims to aid the same by thrusting established and new faces to the top, where they belong in order to stamp their name in the International circuit.

Let us have a glance at the 5 arm wrestlers that should be particularly watched in the upcoming tournament.

  1. Sunil Kumar

Clearly seen in the video flaunting his 19-inch bicep, Sunil Kumar is expected to take the inaugural edition of the Pro Panja League by storm. Boasting a plethora of achievements on his CV which include 9 National Gold Medals, the “Power House” heads into the tournament as one of the overwhelming favourites.

2. Vanramnghaki

Hailing from the northeastern city of Aizawl, 30-year-old Vanramnghaki heads into the competition with a silver medal from the 2019 Nationals in the 80kg category. The right-hander claims that he got hooked to arm wrestling after his friends invited him to play the sport. Aiming to become World Champion in the sport oneday, he idolizes Coc Lalruattluanga.

3. Parmeet Singh

One of the youngest competitors in the tournament, Parmeet Singh aged 22 aims to script history with this opportunity. One of the traits that stick out is Singh’s versatility with his ability to compete with both his hands. Starting his career at the tender age of 14, Singh has secured a silver medal in the 55kg senior men category at the 2019 National Championship held in Bhilai. Moreover, he has claimed that although the sport initially started out as a hobby, he is now giving his all to eventually win the international Arm Wrestling Championship.

4. Harman Mann

Competing in the 90kg category, Mann has 8 years of experience in the sport. Solely dedicated to the sport, he aims to improve with each performance and hopefully participate in International tournaments.

5. Jagdip Kumar

Winning an impressive tally of ten national championships, Kumar can be very well regarded as a veteran with almost twenty years of experience under his belt. An admirer of Devon Larratt, Kumar is also competing in the Indo-Pak championships.

 

 

The inaugural Pro Panja League is set to take place at the Thyagraj Stadium in New Delhi on 29th February 2020.

The best arm wrestlers in India are going to take part in this tournament. Arm Wrestlers from every nook and corner of the country will touchdown in the national capital for the prestigious Pro Panja League.

The registrations for this event is ongoing and can be done here. On spot, registrations for the tournament can be done on 28th February at the venue. The tournament will begin at 4:30 pm and the entry for the event is free.
