In an exciting announcement, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has revealed the five-member Indian shotgun team for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

NRAI’s shotgun squad

Prithviraj Tondaiman, a seasoned trap shooter, will lead the Indian contingent. He has secured a spot in the Men’s Trap event. His consistent performance has earned him a place on the Olympic stage.

Rajeshwari Kumari, another talented shooter, will compete in the Women’s Trap category. Her precision and dedication have propelled her to represent India at the highest level.

Anantjeet Singh Naruka is India’s sole representative in Men’s Skeet shooting. His skills and focus will be crucial in this challenging discipline.

Raiza and Maheshwari will participate in the Women’s Skeet event. Their combined efforts complete the five quota places earned by the Indian shotgun squad during the qualification cycle.

Skeet Mixed Team Event:

Maheshwari and Anantjeet will also team up for the Skeet Mixed Team event. This exciting new addition to the Olympic program promises intense competition.

Notably, all five athletes will make their Olympic debut. The NRAI believes in the team’s potential, aiming for a strong performance and even a second Olympic medal in the discipline.

Kr. Sultan Singh, Secretary General, NRAI, said, “There was intense competition for places and things could have changed in case some shooters had medalled at the recently concluded Lonato World Cup. But we believe that we have a great Shotgun team, which has won the highest ever spots for India at any Games and certainly a second Olympic medal in the discipline looks a strong possibility.”

As the countdown to the Paris Games begins, India’s shotgun team stands ready to showcase their talent and determination on the global stage.
