PKL Season 10 has entered week 4 as the tournament produced exhilarating action so far in three weeks. Tonight the action will proceed in Chennai where the home team Tamil Thalaivas set to clash against the defending champions Jaipur Pink Panthers. Later in the night, Gujarat Giants will face UP Yoddhas.
PKL Season 10 Match 36: Tamil Thalaivas vs Jaipur Pink Panthers
The local side Tamil Thalaivas started their home leg with a defeat against Patna Pirates last night. Tonight, they await the challenge in the form of a strong Panthers side. Thalaivas need a win today to gain the momentum going forward in the tournament. They are still at 11th position in the points table and got a hit in the points difference from last result.
Jaipur Pink Panthers are coming on a dominating win against the Yoddhas in their previous encounter. They produced some nerve wracking moments in their past games and adapted to perform in pressure situations especially against Warriors and Pirates. Though they couldn’t overcome few hurdles, they are still in a great control.
What to Expect
Thalaivas defense unit took a beating against Patna Pirates. Though there were contributions from raiders, the defenders are failing consistently. The onus again lies on their star raiders Himanshu Singh, Ajinkya Pawar and Himanshu Narwal. But support is needed from the defenders as well to come out on top against the determinant Panthers side.
For Panthers, Arjun Deshwal continues to impress. The defenders also provided equal contributions in all the game so far. They are the favourites to win this encounter and if Panthers manage to do that, they move to 2nd in points table from 4th.
PKL Season 10 Match 37: Gujarat Giants vs UP Yoddhas
Gujarat Giants won 50% of their games out of 6. Interestingly all their games were so close where they won/lost with a difference of 2 or 3 points. They gave some tough competition to their opponents thus far. Giants will look to continue that energy against the star cast of UP Yoddhas.
The elite players of Yoddhas haven’t performed to their potential so far in the tournament. They managed to win 2, lost 3 and a draw in 6 games. The team management rely on their experience players to put up a show tonight as they needed this win very badly to remain in the playoff contention.
What to Expect
Giants lost their previous game against Steelers in a close contest. They need to adapt to perform in crunch situations to overcome the opposition. Rohit Gulia in raiding and the Captain Fazel Atrachali in defending are the players to watch out for Giants.
On the others hand, Yoddhas star raider Surender Gill was substitued after first half in the last game. He would be roaring to go in the entire match today. Pardeep Narwal also need to perform to his full potential. If these players give their best, then the task becomes uphill for Giants.
