The second day of the second Test match between India and Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur was completely washed out due to persistent rain. The weather played spoilsport, preventing any play from taking place and leaving fans and players frustrated.
Rain Affects Kanpur Test
The day began with overcast skies and a light drizzle, which soon turned into heavy rain. The ground staff worked tirelessly to keep the pitch and outfield covered, but the relentless downpour made their efforts futile. The morning session was abandoned without a ball being bowled, as the rain showed no signs of letting up.
As the afternoon progressed, there was a brief respite from the rain, raising hopes of some play. However, the ground conditions remained unsuitable for cricket. The umpires conducted multiple inspections, but the wet outfield and poor visibility meant that play could not resume. The rain returned, dashing any remaining hopes of cricket action for the day.

The match officials finally decided to call off the day’s play at around 2:15 PM local time. The decision was met with disappointment from both teams, who were eager to continue the contest. Bangladesh, who ended Day 1 at 107 for 3, will now have to wait until Day 3 to resume their innings.
Day 1 Recap
On Day 1, India won the toss and opted to bowl first, a rare decision on home soil. The Indian bowlers made early inroads, reducing Bangladesh to 107 for 3 before rain interrupted play.
