The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has clarified that it has no plans to organize a bilateral T20I series between India and Pakistan at a neutral venue. Instead, the PCB’s focus is squarely on hosting the Champions Trophy 2025.

PCB prioritizing the Champions Trophy as of now

The PCB is prioritizing the successful conduct of the Champions Trophy. With a packed international schedule, there is no proposal on the table for an offshore T20I series against India.

“There is no such proposal on the table or under consideration because right now the biggest challenge for us is to organise the Champions Trophy in a befitting manner and we also have a packed international schedule,” a highly reliable source said.

“That is our main agenda right now. So, there is no question of contemplating any bilateral venture with India,” the source added.

India and Pakistan haven’t played a bilateral series since 2012-13. The suspension of bilateral cricket has been in place, and both countries have not engaged in any Test series since Pakistan’s tour to India in 2007.

The PCB’s main agenda at ICC meetings was securing budget approval for the Champions Trophy and ensuring India’s participation in the event. Bilateral ventures with India are not currently under consideration.

Speculations about India playing matches outside Pakistan in the Champions Trophy continue, but the focus remains on organizing the tournament effectively.

While cricket fans may hope for renewed India-Pakistan clashes, the PCB’s immediate priority lies in hosting the prestigious Champions Trophy.
