Paytm and Riot Games to host Teamfight Tactics Tournament: prize pool of Rs 75,000!

The past few months of COVID-19 lock down has seen a steady increment in the popularity of eSports, with a number of tournaments for casual and professional players to take part on. Now, Paytm First Games has teamed up with Riot Games, the publisher of the famous auto battler game Teamfight Tactics to announce ‘Teamfight Tactics Tournament’, with an astounding prize pool of Rs 75,000!

Teamfight Tactics, the renowned free-for-all game mobile game will be having its first ever eSports tournament of the famous mobile game in India. A total of 512 players from India will be able to take part in the tournament, which will be held from 17th to 21st June.

Registrations have started from 9th June, and interested players will have to resgister through Paytm First Games app.

The tournament was announced today on Twitter by Paytm First Games.

Released in June 2019, Teamfight Tactics quickly became one of the fastest growing mobile games, reaching an astounding player base of 33 million in September last year.

The auto battler, game, which takes place in the League of Legends universe, pits eight players together in a round, who then have to battle it out using constructing and optimising team compositions, and the last player standing emerges victorious.

The tournament, which will have a number of elimination formats, will have a prize money of ₹45,000 for 1st place, ₹20,000 for 2nd place and ₹10,000 for 3rd place.

“We have great plans for India considering that we have just started our journey on mobile this year. Our relationship with India is just starting and we will work hard to constantly delight our fans and players here,”Pegu added.

“This Teamfight Tactics tournament will be the biggest one ever organized in India in terms of prize money and participation. We are going to live with it in the next xx days and hope to expand our partnership with Riot in the near future,” Sudhanshu Gupta, the COO of Paytm First Games spoke about the tournament.
