It is no secret that Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has a keen interest on Manchester United’s Paul Pogba. The former Ballon d’Or winner has spoken volumes about his skills in press conferences but what could be a roadblock in securing his signing is his salary demands.

Real Madrid is very cautious when it comes to hierarchy in the salary demands of the players. And, with the Frenchmen earning a close to around 17 million euro per annum, which is more than Gareth Bale (15 million euro per annum) and Sergio Ramos (11.8 million euro per annum), the chances of Pogba moving to the French capital have reduced.

To offer Pogba the Real Madrid jersey, the defending UEFA Champions League winner will either have to give Bale and Ramos a raise or reduce Pogba’s wages, the latter of which very few players would accept.

Apart from Paul Pogba, the other players who are under the watchful eyes of Zinedine Zidane are Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard, PSG stalwart Kyllian Mbappe, Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt, and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic.

It remains to be seen who comes in and who goes out. But, one thing is for sure. Interesting times lie ahead for Real Madrid and their fans in this summer transfer window.
