Due to a family ailment, the captain of Australia’s Test cricket team Pat Cummins will leave the sub-continent for a brief period.

Prior to rejoining the team in India for the third Test, which will begin on March 1, the 29-year-old will go to Sydney.

In the series thus far, Cummins has taken three wickets at an average of 39.66 as Australia has been outplayed by India and has lost the first two Tests.

After India defeated Australia by six wickets in Delhi to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Australia will be trying to rebound in the series’ last two Test matches.

The Australian athletes will now take some time to gather themselves before focusing on the third Test at Holkar Cricket Stadium.

With a collapse early on day three, Cummins’ squad was bowled out for 113 in their second innings of the second Test.

India’s top all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja defeated Australia in Delhi with a Test career-best 7-42.
