Pat Cummins is ready for his new challenge after pulling off an excellent job with his national team. Pat Cummins captained an initially shaky-looking Australia side to a World Cup victory by defeating an unbeaten Indian side in the final.
Pat Cummins received a lot of appreciation from the entire cricket world for his excellent captaincy which led his nation to their 6th World Cup title. After that night at Ahmedabad, many Indian fans labeled Cummins as a villain but they were left in shock after hearing what the Aussie pacer thinks of India. According to Pat Cummins India is like a second home to him.
“India is like a second home. We spend so much time here. IPL you’ve got your home teams. So you actually feel like you’ve got plenty of fans Or, you know, at least cricket fans that have, you know, supported you or, you know, lots of people come up to me and say, Oh, I’m from Kolkata or I go for KKR. So it’s nice feeling like not everyone’s against you,” Cummins said on Star Sports.
Pat Cummins opens up on how tough the IPL could get
Cummins became the second most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League, he was bested by fellow Australian pacer Mitchell Starc. Cummins was bought by SRH for a staggering 20.50 crore rupees.
Australia’s World Cup-winning captain spoke about the level of the tournament and said that there was no space for error as the batters have incredible talent in the league.
“I’m just a big believer in concentrating on what I do. Those guys are are that good, if you’re just a little bit off, they’ll find a way to kind of put you off your game. So, um yeah, it’s always good coming up against Virat. He’s got me a few times. I’ve got him a few times. It’s always pretty good,” concluded the Australia Captain.
Pat Cummins will be coming to the IPL with a lot of confidence and hunger. It will be interesting to see how well can he get accustomed to a new franchise in the 2024 IPL.
