Pandya brothers pen emotional posts remembering their late father

Team India have been playing a three-match One Day International series against England in Pune where they have successfully won the first game by 66 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the series as well. However, before the game, they handed over the maiden caps to the all-rounder Krunal Pandya and the fast bowler Prasidh Krishna.

Krunal smashed a blistering half-century in his maiden ODI, scoring 58 not out off 31 balls and Krishna picked up 4 wickets as well. However, after the game, Krunal Pandya wrote an emotional post for his late father, to whom he has dedicated his fifty on Tuesday.

“Papa, with every ball you were always on my mind and in my heart. Tears rolled down my face as I felt your presence with me,” wrote an emotional Krunal Pandya in his social media post. “Thank you for being my strength, for being the biggest support I’ve had. I hope I made you proud. This is for you Papa, everything we do is for you Papa.”

His brother Hardik Pandya, who gave the ODI cap to Krunal, also shared an emotional post for his brother. He took to Twitter and added, “Papa would be proud. He’s smiling down on you bhai and sent an early birthday gift for you. You deserve the world and more. I couldn’t be happier for you bhai. This one is for you Papa”

Krunal Pandya and Hardik had lost their father Himanshu Pandya in January this year and the former one was seen in tears during an interview at innings break after he has stitched a 112-run partnership with KL Rahul for the sixth wicket that helped India put up a huge competitive total of 317 for 5 after their allotted 50 overs.

In his way of maiden ODI fifty, Krunal hit 7 fours and 2 sixes and gave the late boost in the last few overs of India’s innings as well. With the ball, the left-arm orthodox bowler also claimed a wicket by removing Sam Curran- his first ODI wicket. He finished with a figure of 1 for 59 after 10 overs.
