Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali got married to Shamia Arzoo, an Indian national in Dubai on Tuesday. The 25-year-old had posted a picture of himself on Twitter quoting “last night as a bachelor” and fans took no time to share his wedding photos and videos on social media. Ali also shared a video of his “mehndi night” in the middle of the desert, where the Pakistan international was seen doing his signature wicket-taking celebration.

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, (also the wife of Shoaib Malik) was among the first of many to congratulate Ali via Twitter. The Pakistani fast bowler had even invited Indian cricketers on his wedding ceremony and had stated that he would be happy if they turned up. His wife, Shamia, reportedly is from the state of Haryana. She is a flight engineer with Emirates Airlines, while her family members are settled in New Delhi. Hasan Ali is now the fourth Pakistani cricketer to get married with an Indian girl, after Zaheer Abbas, Mohsin Khan and Shoaib Malik.

Ali, who has nine Tests and 53 ODIs under his belt, played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy triumph over India in the final. However, his form has surprisingly plummeted in the past few years. The 25-year-old struggled at the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales and was dropped from the team’s playing eleven midway through the tournament.
