The Kiwi International was roped in by the revamped Delhi franchise in 2018 and picked up 38 wickets to his name during his stint in the capital.

Delhi Capitals recently acquired the services of former Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin to bolster their spin attack in addition to Amit Mishra and Sandeep Lamichhane. Already possessing two potent overseas pacers in Kagiso Rabada and Chris Morris, the franchise opted to trade Boult.

Mumbai Indians will welcome the inclusion of the left-arm seamer to their illustrious pace attack of Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, Jason Behrendorff and Mitchell McClenaghan to name a few.

The franchise owner Akash Ambani expressed his delight after acquiring Trent Boult into the squad. He said:

“Mumbai Indians has always taken pride in having a good pace attack. Year-on-year our bowlers have won us many games, a classic example being last year’s final.

“We are delighted to have Trent Boult as part of the MI family and are looking forward to the upcoming season. I am sure his experience across formats, especially in the limited-overs, will add value to our campaign.”
