The centre forward of the Blues, Olivier Giroud have finally spoken about his future at Stamford Bridge. There were lots of speculations about the news of his departure after the end of this season. The contract of Olivier Giroud with the Blues is going to expire at the end of the season.
However, the situation became tricky for the Blues as they will not be able to sign any new player in the next summer transfer window for the ban. So, there is still a possibility about the renewal of the contract of Olivier Giroud. In this International Break, the star French centre forward told,
“Of course there is a chance I could still be at Chelsea next season, yes, the door is not closed.
“At the club we still need to wait to see regarding if we will have the opportunity to get some players [in the next transfer windows].
“If not the club will be blocked and maybe then they will need me more and to offer me something. I am very happy there, but it all depends on a few things so we will see.
“The French media have made too much of some comments from me trying to push me into a move to Lyon.
“I am staying objective, and if I can stay at Chelsea I will be happy – but I need to play more.
Olivier Giroud’s gametime will be a concern for him if he signs a new contract for the Blues. So, it is surely going to be an interesting summer transfer window for Chelsea FC.
