Olivier Giroud scored the winner for the Blues against Bate Borisov on Thursday in the Europa League encounter at Belarus. It was the first goal of the campaign of the Frenchman and he would be delighted to see himself in the scoresheet.
Former Chelsea player Joe Cole was analysing the match at BT Sports on Thursday. After the end of the match he praised the French centre forward for his good performance against Bate Borisov. He told,
“I’m a massive fan,”
“I was delighted when we signed him.
“To score 100 goals at any level but to score it for a club like Arsenal and then to come to Chelsea.
“He did great last season, he did great at the World Cup.
“He’s one of them players you like playing with.
“I’m sure Michael would have liked to have played off him.”
Though, the performance of the whole team was not very much impressive for the Blues against Bate Borisov. In the first half, they were not able to play their natural game. Maurizio Sarri was also not happy with the performance of the Blues on Thursday. However, they secured a place in the knockouts of the competition and one more point will ensure that the Blues will finish at the top of the Group L in the Europa League.
