Despite late antics by the Indian lower middle order, the Kiwis kept their cool to seal the T20 series by a margin of 2-1 after being mauled in the ODI series by India.
Runs were destined to come on the Seddon Park in Hamilton with its traditionally small boundaries and a surface to be coupled with. The Indian bowling attack with the absence of spearhead Jasprit Bumrah were taken to the cleaners by the Blackcaps courtesy of clean hitting right from the word go.

The powerplay yielded 66 runs for the hosts as openers Colin Munro and Tim Seifert continued their fine run at the top of the order. Leaky bowling by all bowlers barring Kuldeep Yadav cost India a lot. A huge total was set for the visitors and the Indian openers failed to provide a start.
Vijay Shankar made most of his promotion after yet another impressive performance while the middle order faltered. Brief cameos by Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya took India closer to the total.
However, it was meant to be for India as Krunal Pandya and Dinesh Karthik fell agonizingly close to scaling the tip despite their best efforts at the end.
Brief scores:
New Zealand: 212-4 (20 overs) (C.Munro 72, T.Seifert 43; K.Yadav 2-27)
India: 208-6 (20 overs) (V.Shankar 43, D.Karthik 33*; D.Mitchell 2-27)
