The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has announced significant cash rewards for Indian shooters who excelled at the Paris Olympics 2024. This gesture aims to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the athletes who brought glory to the nation.
The felicitation ceremony, held in New Delhi, was attended by prominent figures from the sports community, including Olympic Council of Asia President Randhir Singh and NRAI chief Kalikesh Singh Deo.
NRAI Honours the Champions
Manu Bhaker emerged as a standout performer, making history by becoming the first Indian post-independence to win two medals in a single Olympic Games. Bhaker secured a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event and another bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event alongside Sarabjot Singh. For her remarkable achievements, Bhaker was awarded a cash prize of ₹45 lakh.
Swapnil Kusale also made headlines by clinching a bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event. Kusale’s performance was a testament to his dedication and skill, earning him a cash reward of ₹30 lakh.
Sarabjot Singh, who partnered with Bhaker in the mixed team event, received a cash prize of ₹15 lakh for his contribution to the team’s success.
Recognizing the Support Staff
The NRAI also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the support staff who played a crucial role in the athletes’ success. High-Performance Director Dr Pierre Beauchamp, foreign rifle coach Thomas Farnik, foreign pistol coach Munkhbyar Dorjsuren, national pistol coach Samresh Jung, and national rifle coach Manoj Kumar were each felicitated with a cash prize of ₹5 lakhs. Their relentless efforts and guidance were instrumental in preparing the shooters for the Olympics.

Celebrating a Historic Achievement
The ceremony was a celebration of not just individual achievements but also the collective effort of the entire Indian shooting contingent. The NRAI chief, Kalikesh Singh Deo, expressed his pride in the team’s performance and highlighted the importance of the support system that contributed to their success. He stated, “Our shooters and coaches and the entire support staff have done the country proud. They have proven that they are second to none in this sport, which is no mean achievement.”
