Nikhat Zareen Reaches Semifinals Of World Boxing Championship

Indian boxing ace Nikhat Zareen continue her superb run at the ongoing World Boxing Championship and has now secured the berth in the semifinals, courtesy of a victory over Chuthamat Raksat.

Facing off her Thai opponent in the 50 kg quarterfinal, Nikhat went into her dominating prowess in the squared circle, outpunching her adversary to finish off the bout with a 5-2 split decision victory.

The 26-year-old Commonwealth Gold Medallist, who has dropped down from the 52 kg category, earlier defeated Fatima Herrera Alvarez of Mexico in the pre-quarterfinals on Tuesday.

The World Boxing Championship is currently taking place at the K.D. Jadhav Hall in New Delhi.
