The already eventful Champions League clash between European giants Paris SG and Manchester United saw the English team turn around a 2-0 first leg result into a 3-2 turnaround to proceed to the last 16. The 2nd leg fixture saw a controversial moment where PSG’s Kimpembe’s block of a shot saw a penalty being awarded against him in a confusing scenario as to whether that has handball or hand-on-body. The penalty was scored and Neymar was furious.
Neymark took to social media to vent his frustration over what he assumed to be a erroneous decision.
“It’s a disgrace,” Neymar wrote on Instagram, coupled with a photo of the Presnel Kimpembe penalty incident.
“They even put four people who don’t understand football watching the incident in slow motion. This is unreal!”
“How can [Kimpembe] use his hand with his back [to the ball]?
“Ah fu*k off.”
UEFA has deemed this as a misconduct under the pretext of “insulting/molesting acts match officials”.
The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body with the date of the hearing yet to be confirmed.
