Mumbai’s Shivam Dube earned his maiden national team call up when the squad for the 3 match T20 series vs Bangladesh vs announced.

The 26-year-old, who shot to limelight following his five consecutive sixes in the Ranji Trophy was soon poached by RCB for a whopping 5 crore last season.

But the Mumbaikar failed to make an impression and was eventually awarded with just four appearances. However, impressive performances vs both the West Indies A as well as South Africa A as now seen him earn a call-up for India.

Even while Dube couldn’t justify his price tag in the IPL this year, he feels that sharing the dressing room with both Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers made a huge difference for him.

Dube went on to state that the IPL experience was a huge learning curve for him as he got to share his thoughts with not only local players but also international ones.

He mentioned that Virat always used to guide him and kept saying that his chance would come very soon. Dube also found the net sessions with both Kohli and de Villiers to have been very helpful.

Dube finally credited his success towards the experience he gained through the IPL, which he could use to the fullest in the A tours to make an impression.
